The youth ministry training podcast is finally back. In this episode Buck kicks it off with an explanation and an apology as well as finally diving into our series on youth ministry sermons, as promised. So sit back and enjoy, and let us know how we can better train and serve you in the future.
Our youth ministry training podcast is excited to be starting a brand new series on youth ministry sermons. This series is designed to help you become a better communicator from the stage in your student ministry. Throughout this series Buck will be covering various important aspects of teaching from his background and experiences so we encourage you to keep coming back, whether you think you are a gifted communicator or not. In today's episode Buck introduces our new series and also discusses the importance of teaching from the stage for the health our your student ministry. Because while it is true that this is not all we need to be doing, it still does play an important role and therefore must be something that we keep as a consistent component in our youth ministry.
This youth ministry training podcast wraps up our series on youth ministry tools. In it, Buck discusses another big tool that we have at our disposal, youth ministry games. Now some of us get excited about games. We love nothing more than to get wild, crazy, and messy. But others of us feel this is not quite our thing and would prefer to do something else. But we all know that games are something that we need to do from time to time and are something students enjoy and is a great way for them to let loose. But as Buck will discuss, we always need to make sure that our games serve more of a purpose than just having fun and that they never turn into something that isolates students from our ministry.
Our youth ministry training series on youth ministry tools continues as Buck looks at the important aspect of youth ministry sermons. Not only does he talk about why they are important, but he also goes into detail with some specific tips he has learned about teaching over the years.
This youth ministry training podcast deals with yet another of the youth ministry tools that you have at your disposal. This tool is your family. We did blog post on family recently and how to keep a balance between family and ministry, But we wanted to expand on that and discuss how your family can actually be a tool in your ministry that can set a great example to your students as well as strengthening your life at home.
This youth ministry training podcast from Youth Ministry resources continues our series on youth ministry tools by covering a topic that is often a necessity but also often a drudgery in student ministry. This topic is events. Events can still serve a purpose but often times are not worth the investment of time and finances for the return that we get. This is why Buck discusses some things to ask yourself before deciding whether or not to do an event as well as somethings that every event should include in order for it to be successful and worth your time.
This youth ministry training podcast focuses in on another one of the great youth ministry tools we have at our disposal. This tools is small groups. Small groups should be a huge part of our ministries and in a way are the heart of our ministries. Because this is the way that our students feel connected, will be able to wrestle with scripture, and will grow in their faith. So check out this episode and hear more about the importance of small groups as well as how you can improve the health of the small groups in your youth ministry.
In this youth ministry training series we have seen that youth ministry tools come in many different packages. And some of these we do not think about very often. But for the next few episodes we are going to look at some tools that are a little more obvious. The reason for this, as you will see, is that many of these tools get pushed to the side because we think they do not relate to our students anymore and the world we live in. Or we think that they will merely bore our students and turn them away from our ministries. But many of these tools are exactly what our students need. The first one is obvious, the Bible, but Buck explains why it is important that we have this discussion about keeping the Bible in our ministries and why it is important that we make the Bible the center of all that we do.
The youth ministry training podcast from Youth Ministry Resources continues our series on the many youth ministry tools we have at our disposal as student pastors. And as we have seen, not all of these tools are necessarily what we normally think of. This episode continues that pattern as we talk about an important yet often difficult tool in youth ministry, parents. In this podcast Buck will discuss the importance of parents in the life of the teens in your ministry, as well as how to deal with the variety of family situations that we often have to deal with as student pastors.
